Thomas Cook's announcement of uniting its airline groups under one airline segment thrives to the development of the airlines' growth, according to the latest Press Release by Thomas Cook.
The important step taken by Thomas Cook is to meet the "ever-changing" needs of the customers by sharing knowledge and ideas collectively. Condor - The Thomas Cook airline brand in Germany, Thomas Cook Airlines U.K. and Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium will work as one effective 1 March, 2013. The new airline group will see a few changes in the management as well.
The three airline groups working under one segment will be led by a new Group Airline Management Board under a joint chairmanship of Christoph Debus, Group Head of Air Travel and Ralf Teckentrup, CEO, Condor. Torben Østergaard, CEO Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia, Paul Horstink, Head of Group Maintenance and Nikolaus Kirner, Procurement Director, Thomas Cook Group will also be a part of the new Group Airline Management Board, says the Press Release.
"As we strive to meet the needs of our customers by offering greater flexibility, better choice, high touch service, on time performance and real value, at a time when the European airline industry is experiencing major change, we believe that our airline will be stronger as one integrated business," Debus, lead spokesperson of the Group Airline, said in a statement.
A new Chief Operating Officer will be appointed to manage and supervise the operations across Thomas Cook Airlines. The management board has chosen Cor Vrieswijk, who has vast experience in the airline industry, as the Chief Operating Officer of Thomas Cook Airlines UK.
"As we welcome Cor and the valuable insight he brings, we must also thank Frank Pullman, who is retiring from Thomas Cook Airlines UK as managing director, on 1st March, 2013," Debus said, welcoming the new Chief Operating Officer. "I'd like to thank Frank and we wish him all the best for the future. I would also like to thank our airline teams across Europe for the hard work and commitment they have shown as we've worked towards this important milestone, and together build a stronger future for the Thomas Cook Group."
