Curt Schilling lost himself a couple of upcoming gigs thanks to his controversial tweet on Tuesday. The ESPN analyst was first removed from the Little League World Series broadcast and he'll now deal with further punishment.
According to Richard Sandomir of the New York Times, the former MLB pitcher will not be in the booth for ESPN's broadcast of Sunday Night Baseball this weekend.
Schilling has since deleted the tweet that resulted in his recent fallout, but it can be seen here if you missed it. The former World Series champion apologized for his actions shortly after ESPN suspended him yesterday.
ESPN also released a statement on behalf of Schilling's behavior on social media:
"Curt's tweet was completely unacceptable, and in no way represents our company's perspective. We made that point very strongly to Curt and have removed him from his current Little League assignment pending further consideration."
However, this is nothing new for Schilling or ESPN. The 20-year MLB veteran has been known to make questionable remarks on social media. Hopefully Schilling's most recent lapse in judgment will make him realize certain things can't be documented in the new age of technology.
