The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden has a rare employee who plays an important role in the zoo: Blakely, the dog who watches over animals who were abandoned by their mothers.
Being the zoo’s only animal caretaker, the dog recently cares for Dale the takin, a goat-antelope animal, which is a lot bigger than Blakely, reported USA Today. Despite their differences, the two animals are inseparable.
Dale was rejected by his mom and was removed from other takins. It is currently Blakely's duty to help socialize Dale and teach him how to be around other animals so he can come back to the regular zoo life. The dog provides Dale the friendship, love and care he needs, Little Things noted.
A YouTube video of Blakely and Dale shows the pair playing games together. They would also take a walk together during mornings. Even if Dale grows up to 500 lbs., it seems like nothing will change their friendship, and it looks like Blakely is doing his job perfectly!
