Derrick Rose Sued For Alleged Rape, Attorney Calls Lawsuit 'Outrageous'

Derrick Rose turned down the opportunity to play for Team USA so that he can prepare for the 2015-16 NBA season but now he has a whole other mess to deal with. Rose is reportedly being sued by an alleged ex-girlfriend who claims that Rose and two friend's gang raped her back in 2013, according to TMZ.

The woman in the report is not named, as she is only identified by the name Jane Doe, but she claims that her and Rose dated for two years from 2011 to 2013. The woman claims that while they were dating the Chicago Bulls superstar asked her to masturbate in front of him and allow him to have sex with her friends to which she refused.

The incident which brought up the lawsuit allegedly happened in 2013 when Rose, his manager Randall Hampton and another friend allegedly drugged her at Rose's Beverly Hills house with the intent of raping her. Rose's alleged ex said she was able to escape the house but Rose and his buddies came to her apartment and broke in. The woman claims that she was incapacitated and can only remember flashes of the incident but she says that she does remember being forcibly raped.

When asked why she waited two years to file the lawsuit the alleged victim claimed that she was "ashamed and embarrassed" and that she didn't want her family, which she claims is very conservative, to find out. The woman is reportedly looking for unspecified damages from Rose.

Rose's attorney, Lisa Cohen, has since come out and called this a money grab saying that the plaintiff has been trying to squeeze money out of him for a while now. Cohen also said that this woman has hired three different lawyers now to try to sue Rose and take money from him. Rose and this woman were reportedly in a "non-exclusive, consensual sexual relationship for over two years" according to Cohen. Rose and his attorney expect that this case will be thrown out as they claim the lawsuit is "outrageous."
