Two years ago, Lea Michele's world was destroyed when the actress lost her "Glee" co-star and boyfriend of two years, Corey Monteith. Monteith struggled for years with addiction and in July 2013 he lost his battle and died of a lethal mix of heroin and alcohol.
Michele slowly had to pick herself up and found love again in Matthew Paetz, reported E! News. The couple started dating last year, but she said she would always love Monteith.
"I wanted to make sure that I was OK with me, feeling strong and feeling happy on my own. I didn't want anybody to fill any holes for me - that sounds sexual! I wanted to make sure that I was a whole person again and that no one was coming into my life to put me back together. I needed to do that on my own," Michele told Flare magazine for its October issue. "I worked very, very, very hard and I got back to that place where I was genuinely happy and strong and ready to live again and see the world and, you know, bring in more beautiful experiences. And that's when someone miraculously came into my life."
Earlier this summer Michele took to her Twitter account to remember Monteith two years after his tragic death. "Today we remember the laughter and joy you brought into our lives every day," she captioned a photo of him smiling while he drove. "We think of you always and love you so."
Michele, who is nearing her 29th birthday, her so-called "golden year," also recently told Flare Magazine that she'd like to join the cast of Grey's Anatomy, calling to show creator Shonda Rhimes.
