"Star Wars" fans were disappointed when "The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams announced that he would not be unveiling new footage at Disney's D23 Expo a few weeks ago. Hopefully this will make up for it.
The official "Star Wars" Instagram account posted this new teaser for "The Force Awakens" earlier today.
The videos includes the same voice over from Andy Serkis' character (Supreme Leader Snoke) as in the film's first teaser trailer. But new footage also reveals John Boyega's Finn wielding the iconic blue lightsaber that is rumored to be the catalyst for the film's major plot. This would appear to confirm speculation that Finn and not Daisy Ridley's character (Rey) is the Force user amongst the trio of new protagonists.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will hit theaters on Dec. 18.
