A massive fire on Thursday afternoon left Seaside Heights's boardwalk devastated and damaged, destroying amusement rides, businesses and property, E! News reports, and now the cast of "Jersey Shore" is speaking up about the loss of their beloved "second home" at the Shore.
The gigantic blaze engulfed the legendary Beachcomber Bar & Grill, a popular hang-out for thousands of Shore-goers and the cast of the hit MTV show, "Jersey Shore." About 20 buildings were affected by the fire, according to NJ.com, and even in the wake of Hurricane Sandy's destruction, the town of Seaside Heights must rebuild and recover once more.
"Rip seaside boardwalk," Snooki tweeted Friday. "So many of our favorite places gone...my heart is with everyone affected. Xoxo Beachcomber."
The Beachcomber became the iconic place where Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi became the victim of violence after a rowdy bar patron punched her in the face. The shocking episode was memoralized with a special "Snooki chair," though as NJ.com points out, it didn't take the cast of "Jersey Shore" to make the Beachcomber famous and beloved. Thousands of visitors enjoyed its live music, seafood and dancefloor for years, and the owners of the popular club insist that it will make its return.
"Some of our building and much of our hearts have sustained damage," the owners wrote on their Facebook page. "But the Beachcomber is much more than just a building; it is the spirit of our family, our friends, our employees, our bands and mostly our loyal customers throughout the years. Although no specific reports can be given right now, know that we will be back, the sun will rise tomorrow and the future is bright."
"Prayers go out to the firefighters & all the first responders taking involved in the fire in #SeaSidePark," tweeted "Jersey Shore" cast member Ronnie Magro. "#GoingBounceBackOnceAgain"
Jenni "JWOWW" Farley echoed the sentiments of her friends with the Instagram message, "Stay strong seaside! Thank you to everyone who helped with yesterday's tragedy. My heart breaks for everyone affected. Jersey strong. Don't ever forget that."
