Highway Sniper: Authorities Warn Michigan Motorists to Stay Alert

Authorities in the Battle Creek, Mich. area have taken to the skies to find clues relating to a string of damaged vehicles believed to be the work of a lone sniper, according to ABC 7.

Motorists on the I-94 and I-69 have reported their vehicles being hit by some sort of projectile as they were driving. While the vehicles have sustained damage, no injuries or fatalities have been reported as of yet, CNN reported.

Investigators were able to ascertain that one of the vehicles was indeed hit by a bullet, prompting them to conclude that a sniper is terrorizing the surrounding area.

The type of weapon and motive are still unknown, but travelers who believe they have sustained odd damage while driving on the highways are encouraged to report the incident to the police, as well as locals who may have spotted strange vehicles parked near the freeways for extended periods of time, according to The Inquisitr.

At least seven drivers have come forward to police with claims of being hit by the sniper's shots since July 29 all the way to the latest known incident on Aug. 19.

Authorities say that the driver's were targeted in a broad window of time, somewhere between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
