During their first outing since the birth of Prince George, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge revealed more details about the royal child, giving a window into their world with the baby at home.
The two were guests of honor at the inaugural Tusk Trust Awards on Thursday, according to UK publication Mirror News.
When Gabon President Ali Bongo Ondimba asked the royal couple which parent George was most like, Kate said, "Like most babies, he's got a mix of both of us."
Later, Prince William gave a speech at the event in which he joked just how loudly his seven-week-old cried.
"As you might have gathered, Catherine and I have recently become proud parents - of a baby who has a voice to match any lions roar," he announced, to chuckles from the audience.
He then apologized preemptively if he or Kate seemed a bit out of it.
"This is actually our first evening out without him, so please excuse us if you see us nervously casting cheeky glances at our mobile phones to check all is well back home," he said.
Prince George was left with William's childhood nanny, Jessie Webb, who came out of retirement to help with the baby part time.
Kate and William attended the event the same day that the Duke announced he was leaving his post in the Royal Air Force to focus on raising the baby and his royal duties.
This is his transitional period to full-time royal, according to a recent BBC article.
He also wants to zero in on a number of charities, including African wildlife conservation charity Tusk Trust, the group that threw the fete Thursday night.
Prince William is known for his wildlife advocacy, and passion for protection of endangered animals.
