England and Australia will play their only Twenty20 international, 20 over cricket match, at 14:00 GMT (10 a.m. EDT), Monday at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
England's T20 squad has been facing a tough time this year. England's skipper Eoin Morgan admitted that his T20 side has not been in good form.
"We simply haven't been good enough. Our skill level hasn't been good enough to string enough wins together. We've had a couple of World Cups since then and we haven't peaked at the right time. We have the players, but we need them in good form and to form the right plan to suit the players that we have. We want to get a formula together before the next World Cup," Morgan said a day before the match, according to the Independent.
The visiting Australia lost the prestigious Ashes Test series by 3-2 to England recently. Therefore, they are eyeing victory in the only T20 cricket match in order to gain momentum ahead of five match ODI series. Five limited over One Day Internationals (ODIs) have been planned between England and Australia after Monday's only T20 match.
"It's Finchy's team, actually . . . [which will] take a bit of weight off my shoulders I guess in this form of the game," Aussie part time T20 skipper Steven Smith said. Smith is leading Australia in match in absence of Oz's T20 skipper Aaron Finch, according to Sydney Morning Herald.
