It appears that the David De Gea saga is not bothering Manchester United, as the club signed a few players today, according to MSN Sports. Anthony Martial, formally of AS Monaco, brings new life and talent to United's struggling offense.
Manchester United fans can rest easy and actually believe the club signed Martial, as the team posted the official announcement on their website today.
If the latest United signing does not ring a bell, you are not the only one who had to research Martial. According to ESPNFC.com, Manchester United's Wayne Rooney had to ask teammate, Morgan Schneiderlin, who Martial was. There is a bit of humor in that, considering Martial has been linked to the Red Devils for several weeks.
Rooney and company will get plenty of time to meet and get to know the latest addition to their club. Martial's contract is estimated to be between $50-80 Million Euros. When Monaco purchased Martial from Lyon in 2013, the club paid a mere $5 Million Euros. Not a bad pay raise for the Frenchmen.
Before the move officially was approved by both clubs, Martial made certain to ask permission from French National Team coach, Didier Deschamps. A statement on the French Football Federation's website revealed Martial sought permission from Deschamps before signing.
With a fresh signing in tow, perhaps United can make a push against Manchester City, to steal their position atop the Premier League table.
