Premier League NEWS: Manchester United, Real Madrid Issue Official Statements Regarding Failed David De Gea Transfer

Hours after the news broke that David De Gea of Manchester United would not be joining Real Madrid, BBC Sport reported that both clubs had released official statements on the matter. The laughable blame game is turning into a three-ring circus and digging each side a deeper whole.

Thankfully, BBC Sport broke down the official word on who said what.

Looking at both sides of the matter, it is rather confusing. Each club makes certain to save face and place blame on the other club in each statement. Real Madrid's official statement, perhaps takes things further in showing how poorly they felt they were treated by United. As stated multiple times, Madrid feel wronged by United and cannot understand why the club waited so long to open the door on De Gea or return his transfer papers.

While Manchester United offer their statement and made certain to show the world just how grand they are and don't forget to mention just how happy the club is to keep De Gea. With mention of keeping De Gea more than once, their statement rubs salt in the wound of Madrid.

With talks breaking down because of errors or something else crazy that each club continue to blame each other for, De Gea can at least look forward to moving in January. At that point it will classify as a free transfer and De Gea can finally return back to his beloved home country.
