Indianapolis Colts RUMORS: Nick Saban an Option for Colts if He Leaves Alabama?

Alabama head coach Nick Saban is "miserable and frustrated" at Alabama, and this could lead to a move back to the NFL, according to NBC Sports reporter Mike Florio. Saban didn't stay long in the NFL; in his last stint he left the Dolphins after two seasons with a 15-17 record.

Many ask why would Saban leave the NCAA where he can choose his players and not be hamstringed by a draft or salary cap? The answer is for a ready-made NFL team such as the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts have a team that is set for the playoffs for the at least a couple years, and they have their franchise quarterback in Andrew Luck.

Chuck Pagano is in the final year of his four-year contract and is on the hot seat, according to Bob Kravitz of NBC affiliate WTHR. It might be insane to think, as Pagano is 33-15 in three seasons as the Colts head coach, but he has an owner in Jim Irsay who is never satisfied.

After all Irsay, was fine with cutting ties with Peyton Manning, and it seemed to work out well for him. The only string with this job is that Saban will want total control, and G.M. Ryan Grigson would have to go or at least follow Saban's orders if it were to happen.

Saban left LSU for the NFL shortly after winning a National Championship in 2003, and it's not impossible to think he would do it again. The major issue with the Dolphins was that Saban had trouble getting the personnel he wanted, and walking into Indianapolis would allow him to start with a stacked roster.
