The Miami Dolphins have been hovering around .500 for the last three seasons with Ryan Tannehill under center. But after giving Tannehill a four-year extension worth $77 million, .500 just isn't going to cut it. The Dolphins want to make a serious playoff push and to do so, they invested heavily in the offense this season. That includes a free agent deal for tight end Jordan Cameron, a trade for wide receiver Kenny Stills and a first-round pick for wide receiver DeVante Parker.
Although Parker is dealing with an injury at the moment, he figures to breakout in a big way once healthy. In fact, ESPN Senior Fantasy writer Matthew Berry believes he'll be a force in fantasy football this season.
"I say that currently injured rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker ends up with the most fantasy points among Dolphins pass-catchers this season," Berry wrote in his bold predictions column. "My thinking: Odell Beckham Jr. has taught us you don't need to play in Week 1 to make an impact. I love Jarvis Landry this season but see him running more short routes like he did last season, with Parker becoming the deep threat and No. 1 WR. His talent is off the charts. He just needs to get healthy, and he's getting close."
Parker, at 6-foot-3 and 218 pounds, is Miami's biggest wide receiver and should play a major role in the redzone offense. He was also one of the best big play threats in all of college football last year, averaging an impressive 19.9 yards per catch. Once he's back onto the field full time, Tannehill will have a supremely talented weapon at his disposal.
