Samsung announced in a tweet Monday that BBM will be available on Android Friday, September 20, but only for Samsung users until the end of this year.
Any news is good news when we are talking about BBM's expansion to other platforms. Samsung Nigeria (@samsungmobileng) tweeted a message Monday about BBM's launch on Android platform this Friday. But not all Android users will be able to use the most-awaited Blackberry exclusive messaging app, according to the tweet.
The catch is that only Samsung device owners will be getting exclusive hands on experience of the BBM app until the year end starting Friday. The short and snappy tweet raises more questions than answers. The tweet comes from Samsung Nigeria and it might be possible that the app will only be available for Samsung users in the country. Moreover, it is not clear if all Android smartphones will be getting the BBM app once the 3-month exclusivity comes to an end.
We are sure there are several questions crossing your mind right now but Blackberry has been mum about the subject except for confirming that it has submitted the BBM app to the Apple App Store for review (And yet, we haven't heard anything from Apple).
Blackberry revealed its plans to launch BBM for Android and iOS platforms earlier this year. Although leaks have shown a functional BBM Android Beta version, suggesting that the app will be launched soon.
Earlier this month, Samsung Mobile South Africa tweeted the news that BBM was coming soon to Galaxy smartphones, which syncs with the message shared by Samsung Nigeria.
YES WE DID!!!! Available frm Friday RT @supersanusi: If Samsung really did get the 3 month exclusive like I heard, that would be something

While we wait for an official statement from Samsung or BlackBerry about the latest announcement, Samsung Mobile Kenya (@SamsungMobileKE) also shared a message saying that BBM is coming for Samsung Galaxy devices 7 a.m. Thursday, September 19, via Google Play.
BBM for your Samsung #Galaxy device is finally here! 19 Sept, 7am. Google Play. Be There! #RT - Samsung Mobile Kenya (@SamsungMobileKE)September 18, 2013
With the precise tweets from Samsung Nigeria and Kenya, one thing is for sure that BBM will be first seen on Galaxy smartphones within the next two days. Watch out this space for more news on BBM arriving on Android and iOS.
