Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a. "The Rock," welcomed two adopted French bulldog puppies named Brutus and Hobbs to his family and the pooches decided to cool off with an impromptu swim in the family pool, prompting Daddy to jump in and save them from drowning in this epic Labor Day story, according to E!.
The "Hercules" star shared a photo of him holding Brutus and Hobbs on Instagram on Monday and in the caption, Johnson explains how it all went down, according to Hollywood Reporter.
"[I] bring them home and immediately take them outside so they can start learning how to 'handle their business and potty like big boys,'" he wrote. "I set them both down and they both take off in a full sprint and fall right into the deep end of our pool."
While Hobbs was able to doggy-paddle to keep from drowning, Brutus started sinking to the bottom of the pool, but thanks to some quick thinking from the actor, the pups are still alive.
"Hobbs immediately starts doggy-paddling, while Brutus (like a brick) sinks head-first to the bottom of the pool," Johnson writes. "I take off into a full sprint, fully clothed, dive in the pool, swim to the bottom, rescue my brick - I mean Brutus - and bring him back to the edge of the pool."
"He was a little delirious.. took a moment, threw up all the water he swallowed and looked up at me as if to say, 'Thank God you didn't have to give me mouth to mouth!' and then ran off to play with his brother," the actor continued.
Johnson dished out some advice towards the end of the post. "While sprinting to save your puppy's life, before you dive in, try and throw your cell phone to safety. Don't keep it in your pocket... like I did."
