The Mindy Project Spoilers: James Franco's Farewell; Happy Endings Alum Upped to a Series Regular

Did you enjoy James Franco on last night’s season premiere of the Mindy Project? Well, unfortunately he’s only signed on for one more episode.

However, that may not mean the end of Dr. Paul Leotard.

According to EOnlne, Beth Grant says Franco could come back.

"We had a great time with him. He's the best sport," said the actress who plays receptionist Beverley Janoszewski. "He was really joking around with us and doing improv and being goofy, because we're pretty goofy over there, and he fit right in. We love him and he said he'll come back. I hope we have him back."

It’s a shame Franco is only on the show for two episodes. It would have been fun to see a season-long battle between his character and Mindy—and whatever else their relationship might have produced.

In other “The Mindy Project” news Adam Pally (Happy Endings) has gone from having a recurring role to becoming a series regular, according to Deadline.com. Pally has yet to appear on the show.

When he does appear on Oct. 1 he will playing the role of OBGYN Peter Prentiss.

According to TVGuide.com, Peter becomes great friends with Jeremy’s (Ed Weeks) father Alfred. Although Alfred’s relationship with Peter is going great, Alfred’s relationship with his son is not. There may be a few chubby comments coming Jeremy’s way.

So, James Franco fans make sure you soak up next week’s episode of “The Mindy Project.” It may be a while before we see Paul Leotard again.

“The Mindy Project” airs Tuesdays at 9:30/8:30c on FOX.
