So “Under the Dome” is over till next season. That’s a whole summer that we have to wait. A WHOLE SUMMER. Nevertheless, until then, here is my preliminary wishlist for “Season 2” of “Under the Dome”:
No. 1—Let's get deeper into the Barbie story
One of the last images we see in Season 1 is Junior (Alexander Koch) about to pull the lever and hang Barbie (Mike Vogel.) I don’t see a reason why Vogel would leave the show and it’s a safe bet that he will survive. I mean, he can’t die. There’s so much we still need to know. What does the military want with him? Does he play a part in the secret dome people’s plan? Will he and Julia last? It would be nice if the show delved more into the Barbie story line in the sophomore season.
No. 2—More Communication
We finally saw the dome communicate with the people of Chesters Mills in the season finale, so hopefully there will be more communication in Season 2. Also if the dome is sending more “people” to talk with the citizens of the town, that could also provide more casting opportunities.
No. 3—The power of the Monarch
If Julia (Rachelle Lefevre) truly is the monarch, exactly what type of powers will she wield? There is no way she can be “crowned” and not have any power. Also, usually when there's strange life forms involved, the power is of the supernatural variety. We’ll see what the dome has planned for Queen Julia.
“Under the Dome” returns next summer on CBS.
