'Black Mirror': Netflix To Produce New Episodes Of Dystopian Drama Series (REPORT)

"Black Mirror," Charlie Brooker's sci-fi series, has been picked up by Netflix. The streaming service has reportedly agreed to terms with Brooker and his production company, House of Tomorrow, to produce new episodes of the Channel 4 dystopian drama, according to Radio Times.

Netflix, which has more than 65 million subscribers worldwide, already owns the right to the show's back catalogue of previous episodes, which includes a 2014 Christmas special that featured "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm.

The show premiered in the U.K. in 2011 and thus far, only seven episodes have been made. "Each episode is a self-contained story looking at the harms and lures of technology, with the first series including an episode about the prime minister being forced to have sex with a pig on live television," according to The Verge.

The deal has not yet been confirmed by either Netflix or Channel 4, but the show - described as the modern equivalent of "The Twilight Zone" - would be a perfect addition to the list of Netflix's other original shows like "House of Cards" and "Daredevil."
