Jon Gosselin, former star of TLC's reality drama "Jon & Kate Plus 8," is living a bit of a different life these days.
Gosselin, who once lived in a million-dollar home with his family, launched into the spotlight after the first season of his show aired, is now waiting tables and living in a cabin in the woods with no Internet or television.
On a recent episode of "Entertainment Tonight," the father of eight sat down with the talk show to speak on the difficulties he's encountered trying to find work.
He said it was "next to nearly impossible," to find a job, ultimately gaining employment at a restaurant in Pennsylvania called Black Dog Café.
"At first I was nervous because I was like, 'How are people going to react?'" Gosselin told ET, on serving food. "But then I'm thinking, 'Well it's fun and I get to talk to people.' And they technically already know me. They're like, 'Are you the guy?' I'm like, 'Yeah, I'm the guy.'"
Just four years prior, Jon and his family raked in $22,500 for each episode of the hit reality show. But he waved away rumors that he made "millions and millions" during the show's five seasons, before Jon got the boot and it was renamed "Kate Plus Eight."
"I've hit rock bottom like 20 times," he revealed, commenting that there was no shame in trying to make ends meet by picking up a job running food. "And then I just bounce back and go somewhere else."
In a recent Enquirer article, an unnamed source echoed Jon's rock bottom sentiments, ripping the former reality TV star for becoming a scrub.
"Jon has really hit rock bottom," the source said earlier this month. "Just a few years ago, he was jetting off to France to hobnob in St. Tropez, sipping champagne on a yacht. Now he's waiting tables at a pub! Working the weekday lunch shift, he can't possibly be taking home more than $40 or $50."
Ouch. At least Jon isn't shy about his new gig.
"It's disgusting to think that because you wait tables, or because you have different things, or because you don't have an 8 to 5 job, that you're making ends meet, that it's [wrong]."
When asked if he regretted doing "Jon & Kate," Gosselin replied flatly that he didn't "regret anything."
"You learn from your mistakes, that's what builds you to who you are today," he finished.
