Remember in Season 4 when Damon (Ian Somerhalder ) took Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) away, along with Matt (Zach Roerig) and they trained and bonded (sort of ). It was almost like a vampiry version of the Big Brother program.
Well, according to an interview Somerhalder recently did with TVGuide.com, now that Jeremy is living with Damon we may see some more of the big brother dynamic between the two.
When asked by the website if Damon would “take Jeremy under his wing,” Salvatore joked, “It’s a little hard for Damon to take Jeremy under his wing now because Jeremy is so huge.”
“He’s like muscle-man,” Salvatore said with a chuckle.
However, on a more serious note he added, “He has to take Jeremy under his wing, that’s his love's little brother.”
Damon and Jeremy’s relationship hasn’t really been the exemplary version of a little brother/big brother relationship. They’ve gotten into plenty of arguments, Damon has snapped Jeremy’s best friend’s neck, and he’s snapped Jeremy’s neck— like I said not at all exemplary. Nevertheless, with Elena (Nina Dobrev) gone they and Damon’s real brother in a safe at the bottom of a lake, they may need each other. (Especially if Jeremy gets tired of being Bonnie’s [Kat Graham] mouthpiece.)
As for Damon and Elena, Somerhalder said it was only right for Damon not to try and keep her in Mystic Falls.
"You don't send your girl off to college who really needs a break from your hometown, and tell her 'I need you back here,'" he told TV Guide. "You're going to say, 'Go. As much as I want you here and as much as I want to spend time with you, you've got to go live your life.'"
