Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth split wasn't because they were not spending enough time together, but rather the "Hunger Games" actor couldn't handle her rising star?
The couple officially announced their split on Sept. 16 to People magazine. Both reps for the actors confirmed the engagement is officially over, which did not come as a shock for some after Cyrus' twerk-filled VMA performance.
However, what is a surprise are claims Hemsworth allegedly can't handle Cyrus' success. Hemsworth is a part of "The Hunger Games" film franchise, which has launched his movie career and opened doors for him, just like Cyrus' stint on Disney's "Hannah Montana."
Sources told HollywoodLife.com Hemsworth couldn't "handle" Cyrus, as she conforms to no man's needs.
"Miley isn't the type of girl that's going to conform and be this perfect little girl for Liam or anybody else," an insider close to Cyrus told the gossip site. "It's not her fault Liam couldn't handle that. It's called showbiz for a reason and Miley understands that and will put on a show and could care less about the reactions."
Cyrus is on the heels of launching her next studio album, but is her soaring career too much for Hemsworth? HollywoodLife.com reports Hemsworth had a "bad case of jealousy," and wasn't "prepared" to be "involved with a strong woman."
As for what Cyrus thinks of the "Hunger Games" actor moving on with Mexican actress Eiza Gonzalez? Seems like the "Wrecking Ball" singer doesn't have time for that.
"Good for him," says the source. "Once Miley's done she's done. She doesn't expect him to hold on. By all means, she doesn't care he's out there doing whatever."
Hemsworth has been spotted multiple times with Gonzalez since announcing his split with Cyrus. The two were seen getting hot and heavy the day in Las Vegas the day after their split. (See photos here).
