Israel won't be on this Earth in 25 years, Iran's supreme leader said in a speech this week, according to CNN. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered his speech at the Imam Khomeini Mosque in Tehran. He was speaking about the Iran Deal that has polarized U.S. politicians. The U.K., France, Germany, Russia and China are also involved in the deal that prevents Iran from expanding their nuclear program.
"God willing, there will be no such thing as a Zionist regime in 25 years. Until then, struggling, heroic and jihadi morale will leave no moment of serenity for Zionists," Khamenei said.
Israel responded. "He has made it clear that the U.S. is the Great Satan and that Iran intends to destroy the state of Israel. This will not happen. Israel is a strong country and it will become even stronger," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement, CNN reported.
"With the grace of God, something by the name of the Zionist regime will no longer exist in the region," Khamenei said, according to U.S. News and World Report.
The Iran Deal does not mean that the U.S. is allying with Iran, and the supreme leader pointed that out in his speech. "We approved talks with the United States about [the] nuclear issue specifically. We have not allowed talks with the U.S. in other fields and we [do] not negotiate with them," he said, according to The Times of Israel.
