Arsenal RUMORS: Daniele Rugani Targeted To Bolster Defense?

Arsenal is looking for depth on defense and Daniele Rugani is a rumored target, according to Bleacher Report. Having two solid center backs is great for the Gunners, but if either goes down, there is a significant drop-off in talent.

The young Rugani has started turning heads at Juventus and for the Under-21 Italian national team. Last season, Rugani went on loan to Empoli where he started all 38 games. During his time there, Rugani did not pick up a single yellow card - a feat that not even seasoned veterans can consistently claim.

Arsenal is not the only Premier League club looking at Rugani, according to Euro Sport. Manchester City is looking for extra support on defense as well. City is known for having deep pockets, and if it came down to a bidding war for Rugani, that is one battle the Gunners would not win.

Rugani is proving to Juventus and Italy that he is a dominant force on the back line. Italy prefers most of their top players to stay in Serie A. There is a saying around Italy that if Juventus is good, the Italian national team is good.

Because of Italy wanting their best and brightest players to stay at home, there is a high probability that Rugani will not leave wine country for England.
