Both teams qualified for the main tournament and enter Friday's match with the intention to remain undefeated in the qualifying phase, CricBuzz.com reports. Hyderabad owes much of its tournament success to skipper Shikhar Dhawan, who's scored consecutive half-centuries in the previous qualifiers. Amit Mishara has provided solid play on the bowling front, and he's excited with his team's performance thus far.
"We played so well in the IPL and at least made it to the CLT20 Qualifiers," Hyderabad spinner Amit Mishra told the official CLT20 website, via IB Times. "Now that we have entered the Group Stage with a game to spare, all of us are really happy and it's apparent on everyone's faces too.
"The biggest plus that I see in our performance in this tournament so far is our batting. In the IPL our batting couldn't click too often but now Shikhar (Dhawan) is in such good form, Parthiv (Patel) is in good nick and the following batsmen are also scoring runs.
"Our bowling and fielding have always been good, so having these runs on board is a huge boost for us."
For Otago, skipper Brendon McCullum has helped lead his club to victories, starting with an unbeaten 83 in the team's opening win against Faisalabad. The team looks to carry its momentum from consecutive wins into Friday and finish the qualifying phase on a strong note.
