Oregon Ducks RUMORS: Vernon Adams Jr. Playing With Injury Against Michigan State

The Oregon Ducks starting quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. is reportedly dealing with an index finger injury on his throwing hand, according to ESPN.com.

The Ducks have a big test on Saturday night as they play Michigan State in East Lansing. This is the second consecutive year that the Ducks and Spartans have met in the first month of the season, and while both teams are ranked in the top 10. Last Season Marcus Mariota and the Ducks put the Spartans away 46-27, but Mariota is no longer in Eugene and neither is the game this year.

Adams had to come out of the last week's game after a hard hit in the fourth quarter against his former team Eastern Washington. Adams has been icing that hand and is reportedly expected to play against the fifth-ranked Spartans tonight.

Adams is key to the Ducks' success against Michigan State and has continually said that he expects to play on Saturday, according to ESPN.com. Last week against his former team, Adams threw for 246 yards and two touchdowns as well as rushed for 94 yards in a 61-42 win.

Last season at Eastern Washington Adams passed for 3,483 yards and 35 touchdowns. He was also sacked 36 times in his junior season. While Adams is playing in a much tougher league in the Pac-12, he is also playing with better talent around him as the Ducks are usually at the top when it comes to recruiting.

Behind Adams is Jeff Lockie, but Ducks fans are likely hoping they don't see him Saturday night as that will mean Adams is playing and likely playing well.
