Arizona Shooting Copycats Arrested

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said they have arrested three teenagers who were copycats to the highway shootings that have plagued Phoenix the last two weeks. The teenagers used a slingshot to "fire" rocks at people and cars, making victims worried they were being shot at, according to ABC 15.

Aaron Nottingham, Albert German and Christian Cook, all 18-year-olds, were arrested on assault, endangerment and criminal damage charges. All have all confessed to throwing granite rocks at pedestrians and vehicles.

The police were able to find the copycats easily, when one of the victims took down the teenager's license plate and turned in the plate information to the police, according to the Examiner, although, not before the teens attacked seven vehicles and six pedestrians.

"Don't kid yourself. What the kids were doing last night was absolutely lethal," he said. "None of us should have to drive the highways and roadways and worry about people just randomly shooting items at our vehicles," said Colonel Frank Milstead, director of the Arizona Department of Public Safety, according to News Max.

With the Arizona Cardinals playing football in their stadium just a few miles from the I-10 corridor where the shootings have taken place, police authorities stated that they will be on high alert after the game, with the added drivers on the roads.

"We have an incredibly large footprint along the I-10 corridor," Milstead said.
