Rumors have been circulating around corners of the internet that Demi Lovato's next single off of her fourth album, "Demi," will be the upbeat club "Neon Lights," and her recent performance of the song alongside her hit ballad "Skyscraper" hasn't eased suspicions.
So far, Lovato has released two pop-rock songs from "Demi," including the hit "Heart Attack" and summer love anthem, "Made In the USA." Her last album, "Unbroken," didn't receive a third single, but insiders at her label Hollywood Records have confirmed that she will definitely get one this time around. Could it be "Neon Lights?"
According to Idolator, Hollywood Records will indeed be releasing the synth-pop, Ryan Tedder-penned anthem as Lovato's third single, as Hollywood Records just uploaded the song to their official SoundCloud page, though the label has yet to confirm the news, so fans may want to hold off before celebrating quite yet!
Sounding like something of a mix between Selena Gomez's song "Hit the Lights" and Rihanna's No. 1 hit, "We Found Love," "Neon Lights" will likely do well on the radio with its energetic, electronic soundscape, a change from Lovato's usual mid-tempo pop-rock songs and ballads.
Most recently, the "X-Factor" star performed "Neon Lights" to a crowd of 20,000 kids at the We Day concert in Toronto, as part of a movement that inspires kids to get involved in their communities and become agents of social change. "Everyone in this audience EARNED their seat by doing charity work," Lovato recently wrote on her official Facebook, along with a Keek video she recorded of the massive crowd.
The star demonstrated such principles with her recent trip to Kenya, where she helped build a medical clinic with associated organization Free the Children for her 21st birthday, the recovering addict eschewing a traditional bash for a more humanitarian experience.
"I'm not gonna lie. It's going to hurt a little bit," Lovato admitted to Cosmo for her August cover issue before leaving for the African country. "Sometimes I wake up and I'm like, why can't I be normal? Why can't I just...you know? But I can't, so I don't. I look at birthdays as celebrating another year of your life. You've made it another year, an entire year. Some people don't make it to 21."
Any stress she may have been anticipating was erased during the trip, however, as Lovato continues to gush about how amazing the experience was as fans commented on how happy she looked in photos from her time in the country.
