Dallas Cowboys NEWS: Dez Bryant to Have Foot Surgery Tuesday, Out Four to Six Weeks

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is reportedly expected to have surgery on his broken fifth metatarsal in his right foot on Tuesday and will be a out four to six weeks, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.

The Cowboys just came off a huge last-minute win over the NFC East rival New York Giants, 27-26. Head coach Jason Garrett figures that Bryant's recovery time will be four to six weeks, which could have him back for a rematch against the Giants on Oct. 26th.

Bryant was injured while running a crossing route in the fourth quarter. Injury recovery can vary depending on the person, but the team is hoping for a fast recovery and will not place him on the injury reserved list, according to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport.

Bryant is a huge weapon for the Cowboys for both his receiving and his blocking. He is one of the best blocking receivers in the league, and at 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, he can easily push around smaller corners. Last season Bryant had 1,320 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns. The Cowboys are likely happy to get out with a win last night, as they played poorly until the fourth quarter, when they thrashed the Giants defense.

Jason Witten made the game-winning touchdown catch last night, and Romo will likely need him to be a big target going forward. Witten had eight receptions for 60 yards and two touchdowns. Outside of Witten, Cole Beasley and Terrance Williams will look to be Romo's big weapons.

The running game will also need to step up with the loss of Bryant. Joseph Randle was their leading rusher with 65 yards, but that is far from what they had from DeMarco Murray last season.

Bryant's injury will likely hurt the Cowboys, but if they can manage to get him back and still have a winning record they will likely be happy. The Cowboys play the Eagles this Sunday, in Philadelphia, and it looks to a be a tough test for Romo and the offense without their star receiver.
