Disney returns to the deep jungle again next spring with its live-action adaptation of "The Jungle Book," which dropped its first official trailer on Tuesday.
Jon Favreau directs the film that revisits Disney's classic animated feature from 1967. The movie will introduce Neel Sethi, who plays the young orphan boy Mowgli, abandoned in the jungle and saved by the black panther, Bagheera (voiced by Ben Kingsley).
Scarlett Johansson, who voices the python Kaa, is the only animal to speak in the trailer. Other famous actors lending their voices to the project include Bill Murray (the laid-back bear Baloo), Idris Elba (the Bengal tiger Shere Khan), Lupita Nyong'o (mother wolf Raksha) and Christopher Walken (the monkey leader King Louie).
Sethi blends seamlessly into the CGI jungle and its wild creatures. He rides on the back of Baloo, runs from Shere Khan and comes face to face with Kaa. He and Baloo even float down the river as the bear whistles that familiar tune - "The Bare Necessities."
Watch the first official trailer below and catch "The Jungle Book" in theaters on April 15, 2016.
