Country star Luke Bryan helped to make little Lila May Schow's dreams come true before her passing.
The 5-year-old terminally ill cancer patient was one of Bryan's biggest fans and he invited the toddler to dance on stage with him during an upcoming concert, People reported. Sadly, Lila May passed away before she could fulfill her dream.
"Our sweet, sweet Lila is gone. She left us at 5:15 yesterday. It was not the peaceful ending we had hoped for, but she is at peace now," Lila May's mother, Heidi Hall wrote on her Facebook page. "My heart is shattered into a million pieces. There is no pain on earth that is worse than this."
Lila May was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma at 2 years old, according to People. In July of this year, doctors told Hall that Lila May's body was too weak to continue with her treatment. Though she lived a short life, many of her dreams came true thanks to the generosity of her neighbors in her hometown of Hood River, Oregon.
She was named princess of her town, took a week-long trip to Hawaii and had the birthday party of her dreams. But she had one wish left which was to dance on stage with Luke Bryan during her favorite song, "That's My Kind Of Night."
When Bryan heard about little Lila May's wish, he reached out to the family personally.
"Luke personally called Lila and talked to her and her family," Jenny Brown-Lorenzen, a close friend of Lila's family, told People. "They were so very impressed."
He arranged for Lila May and her family to attend an upcoming concert on his current tour to fulfill the little girl's dreams, but she passed way before the concert.
