Seattle Sounders NEWS: Roman Torres Done For The Year

Seattle Sounders defender Roman Torres is out for the remainder of the 2015 MLS season, according to MLSSoccer.com.

After leaving the pitch hurt in the Sounders recent match against the San Jose Earthquakes, the team confirmed he has suffered a season-ending knee injury.

After signing with the Sounders back on August 12, Seattle had high hopes of using Torres to be the final piece in their defense, according to The Seattle Times. Torres found quick chemistry with reigning MLS Defender of the Year Chad Marshall. With all the pieces appearing to be in place, the absence of Torres greatly impacts the Sounders chances of making the MLS Playoffs.

Seattle hopes veteran Brad Evans can slide back from midfield to take over the vacant spot that Torres left. Evans is recovering from a concussion sustained against San Jose, but is moving through his post-concussion protocol quickly.

With Torres out, the Sounders face a tough road ahead even though they sit in fourth place in the Western Conference. Seattle has five games remaining and does not have the easiest of matches left.

The Sounders face the LA Galaxy, Real Salt Lake, Sporting Kansas City, Vancouver Whitecaps and Houston Dynamo. There is a huge possibility that Seattle could miss this year's MLS playoffs.
