Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is confident his squad is mentally tougher than United, according to ESPN. Despite finishing 11 points behind United last season, Pellegrini is convinced this year's squad is tougher than last year's.

"I don't know what happened in the past but I know that our mentality in this moment is very strong, so strong or more strong than Manchester United," Pellegrini said, via ESPN.

Pellegrini added: "I don't ned to be here to know how important the derby is, but working here and living here I know it is a special game. It is a match of six points. It is very important to win (against) one of the most important teams.

"it is more important to win than not to lose."

United has won six of their last 10 Premier League meetings against City. Both teams beat each other once last season when playing away from home, according to BBC.
