Small blue strips are appearing on curbs, along streets, in many parts of the nation. Many people might think the strips are painted in a random fashion. But there is actually a method and an initiative at work behind the innocuous looking blue lines.
The blue strips are part of the 'The Safe Harbor Initiative,' started by San Antonio, Texas resident Anthony Welichko, reports Americas Freedom Fighters.

Welichko says that the blue strips are an expression of solidarity that citizens have with police. Explaining further he says that the people living in the home directly in front of the mark on the curb promise to look after officers working in the vicinity. Even if the citizens don't actively support the police, even the show of solidarity will go a long way to boost up morale, reports Mad World News.
"We do not need the media to make our voices of support for our police and emergency services heard (though it would be nice). Lastly, if you are in my neighborhood and mean to harm a member of law enforcement, know that decision may be hazardous to your health as someone has that officers back," Welichko said according to DC Watchdog.
The Safe Harbor Initiative believes that it is time that we as a nation, took a step forward to support all those who willingly and voluntarily risk their lives to serve and protect the nation. It may just give us a chance to do this.
