The Emmy Awards was first introduced in 1949 and honors television personalities for their outstanding contribution to American television. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), and the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences are three separate organizers who present this award and each organizer is responsible for administering a certain part of the show.
