Fans eager for "Game of Thrones" news have been carefully reviewing the information coming out of the HBO show's Girona set. Much of this information has surrounded a travelling theatre troupe in season six. Richard E. Grant ("Whitnail and I") will portray the troupe's manager, while Kevin Eldon ("Brass Eye") and Essie Davis ("The matrix Reloaded") will play leading actors.
Although "Game of Thrones" will continue to deviate from George R.R. Martin's source material in season six, this acting troupe is seemingly taken straight from the page of the upcoming "The Winds of Winter."
In a sample chapter released earlier this year, the Gate is a playhouse owned by Izembara (assumed to be Grant's character). It is here where Arya Stark is pretending to be a mummer with the playhouse, going undercover as a girl named "Mercedene" or "Mercy" and experiencing Warg dreams similar to Bran.
During the sample chapter, Arya lures an evil figure from her past away from his group to exact revenge for the death of her friend Lommy. However, this plot point has already been seen in the HBO show, albeit in a different context.
Her involvement with the troupe in the show remains a mystery, though it is likely to somehow be connected to her training at the House of Black and White. As can be seen in the below photo, Maisie Williams is in costume with other troupe actors. Whether or not this is a mission bestowed on her by Jaqen H'ghar remains to be seen.
We know that Arya will remain blind for part of season six. But beyond that, your guess is as good as ours.
Season six of "Game of Thrones" will return in 2016.
