Former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Terrelle Pryor will be back in the upper northwest next week to workout with the franchise for which he threw passes not all that long ago, only Pryor won't be working out as a quarterback. Pryor, 6-foot-5, 232-pounds, 4.4 speed, has made a position switch to wide receiver and will be bringing his revamped skill set to a workout with the Seahawks next week, according to a report from NFL.com's Rand Getlin.
Pryor, a quarterback for the first three seasons of his NFL career, made the switch to wideout this offseason in an effort to prolong his professional tenure and hopefully put some of his ample athleticism and freakish size to use.
Pryor signed with the Cleveland Browns this offseason and seemed well on his way to making an impact after showing ample promise during the preseason and finding his way onto the 53-man roster, but some overall lineup uncertainty brought his stay in Ohio to a close and the Browns released him in order to make room on the roster for former Seahawks running back Robert Turbin.
Since his release, Pryor has drawn a lot of attention from around the league. He's worked out for the New England Patriots already and is said to set for a workout with the New York Jets as well, perhaps before making his way to Seattle.
Interestingly, Pryor would seem like a good fit for nearly all of these teams, though Marc Sessler reports that there is "nothing imminent" between Pryor and the Pats. As a bigger-bodied pass-catcher, he brings an element that few other players in the league can. Lining up alongside electrifying rookie Tyler Lockett, Jimmy Graham and Doug Baldwin would create quite the array of possibilities for Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson.
Still, a workout is just a workout and Pryor only made the move to wide receiver a few short months ago. He's an intriguing talent, but still a project.
