Rockstar Games has announced that it is working to fix a problem that has arose in its hugely popular recent release "Grand Theft Auto V." The glitch occurs when people try to save cars in their garages only to have them disappear when players go back to retrieve them.
"We have received some reports about problems with cars and garages, particularly after upgrading and then completing a mission, and are looking into this now," the company says on its support page. "This issue may occur if you drive another character's personal vehicle. We are looking into a fix to prevent this from occurring in the future. In the meantime, please try to avoid parking a car in a garage, driving one already in a garage, or getting in a default vehicle, when playing as a character other than the one with your upgrades."
The ability to put money into cars in order to make them more resistant to bullet damage, increase speed and other performance and respray the paint job is a major selling point of "Grand Theft Auto." The game allows its users to upgrade their favorite car and simply park it in a garage at one of the many safe houses in the game for when he or she wants to drive it again.
According to ComputerandVideoGames "Grand Theft Auto" title's opening launch week sales combined. It dethroned the U.K.'s previous most-sold game during a launch week, "Call of Duty: Black Ops" by almost 250,000 copies selling.
Rockstar gave no official word on when the fix would happen but it has clarified that it is indeed both aware of the problem and actively working to fix it. In the mean time, users should probably wait before putting money into a vehicle, unless of course they're OK with losing it through a mysterious disappearing act.
