When oceanographic exploration vessel E/V Nautilus got a glimpse of an adorable tiny bobtail squid, they took a video and shared it with the world, reports MSN.
This has certainly got to be the cutest little sea creature ever! Watching it on the video, it is hard to imagine it is real and not some movie special effects cartoon creature but indeed it is real, fluorescent purple color and all.
The tiny 2-inch bobtail squid are night hunters, says Tree Hugger, who are capable of eliminating their shadow by producing glowing bacteria on its underbelly, to mimic the moonlight. The little cutie is capable to adjusting the brightness of the light to match that of the moon. What an incredible little sea creature!
The video shows him shooting across the sand, and then lightening himself, which the videographers took as a sign for the seafaring scientists to back off.
See the tiny "squidapus" for yourself, the tiny bright purple little creature with huge round eye, he's almost alien-like. It's a rare glimpse at what lies in the bottom of the ocean that few get to ever see.
