The Oakland Raiders visit the Denver Broncos for Monday Night Football. Kickoff is at 8:30 p.m. ET. Tune to ESPN or watch the live stream HERE.
Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning opened the 2013 season with a record-tying seven touchdown passes. He then passed for 307 yards the following week to join Dan Marino and Brett Favre as the only NFL players to throw for 60,000 yards in their careers, ESPN/STATS LLC reports.
Raiders corner back Charles Woodson knows stopping Manning on Monday won't be an easy task.
"He's the best of the best," Woodson said of Manning, via ESPN. "The thing with him is you try your best to give him different looks and not let him know what (defense) you're in. If he knows what you're in, you see what he's done the first couple of weeks."
While Denver sits at 2-0, Oakland is 1-1. Although Oakland is without safety Tyvon Branch, who hurt his ankle last week against Jacksonville, the Raiders defense can make up for it with the absence of Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady.
Clady, a key part of Manning's protection, suffered a Lisfranc tear in his left foot during last week's win over the Giants and will miss the remainder of the season. Chris Clark is tasked with guarding Manning's blindside.
"Stepping up into a role like this, it's not going to be hard for me to adjust," said Clark. "It's not about filling a guy's shoes for me. It's about me creating my legacy, just helping the team the best way I can and doing my job."
Clark, a 2008 undrafted free agent, will have to contend with a Raiders defense that is tied for first in the NFL with sacks.
Asked to keep up with Manning's ability to seemingly score at will is 24-year-old Terrelle Pryor, who's proving himself as a mobile quarterback. Although he's rushed for 162 yards in two games, he's thrown for only 343 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in that span.
Denver is a 16-point favorite, according to ESPN. The over/under is 48.5 points.
