The Muppets left television for feature films nearly 35 years ago, but this fall they will make their triumphant return to the small screen on the new ABC show, "The Muppets."
Kermit and Miss Piggy aren't the only former TV stars returning to television during the 2015-2016 season. Don Johnson, John Stamos and Fred Savage all have new shows premiering this month.
Some stars have been away from TV for years (William Petersen, Ed Westwick and Dianne Wiest). Others are back after only a few months away (Jane Lynch and John Cryer).
They also return to a television landscape divided across multiple platforms including network television, premium cable and video streaming services.
