Apple has called off the 6.0 update for its TV devices released last week due to complaints from subscribers. The company has rolled out a new update, 11A502, claiming to fix all earlier problems along with additional features to pacify the angry users
The earlier 6.0 update caused library loss, slowed downloading and even resulted in bricking of the devices. The updated firmware released Monday, sorts out all unwanted side effects, provides ready access to iTunes music stores and the subscribers can avail the tracks from Apple TV itself. iTunes Radio, an online music streaming service, launched with iOS7 comes as an added bonus with the new firmware, reports techcrunch.
The latest firmware will also bring in some added digital goodies for the subscribers with updates from iCloud and inclusion of a new conference mode. The iCloud update gives direct access videos that have been stored on iCloud with online streaming and the user does not have to go through complex settings to install the same. The photo and the podcast station streaming appear to be a lot faster with the latest 11A502 build. The new conference mode would mean better sound clarity for a greater number of audiences. Also the Apple TV subscribers will be receiving premier content from Disney, Vevo and weather channels with the latest firmware.
The recently added features to the 6.0 update might keep Apple ahead of Google and Sony in the race for TV based services. Chromecast of Google does not have access to Google All Access music for now and Sony is still working on the added features for its TV dongle to keep pace with the other two. Apple has been reportedly working on its latest TV device that expects a launch within a couple of weeks, reveals a recent post on Trusted Reviews.
