Moto X on T-Mobile's network has got a latest update for its camera with several improvements for better picture quality.
Owners of Moto X smartphone on T-Mobile's network are in for a treat. Motorola rolled out a new update for T-Mobile Moto X smartphones that just pushed the camera feature up a level. Photo enthusiasts will have a lot to take from the latest change. Motorola also addressed other features in its new OTA update, but mainly focused on the camera.
The OTA update has improved the overall image quality of white balance and color accuracy with better exposures in outdoors and backlit scenes. The updated camera responds quickly and snaps more pictures in lesser time with improved autofocus. It avoids delayed focus especially in low light and scenes with continuous motion.
Additionally, Motorola said that it has fixed any delays in switching between rear and front camera, and transition between viewfinder and the gallery.
Besides the camera tweak, Motorola also focused on other Moto X features. The latest update improved Touchless Control, files transfer experience, call quality and fixed few issues with the Motorola Assist.
Software update on Moto X:
Moto X users on T-Mobile can witness the better change after receiving an update notification. Once updated to the newest "139.12.57.ghost_row.Retail.en.US." users can not go back to the earlier version. If users have received a message to update the software, then by clicking "download" and "install now" users can check out the new camera feature.
However, if users haven't received the message yet, then follow the simple steps below (via Motorola Release Notes):
- Ensure the batter is charged at least 50 percent for any software update and connected to a Wi-Fi network.
- Go to settings
- Select "About Phone"
- Go to "System Updates"
- Select "Download" and then "Install"
- Phone restarts automatically after the software update, which means the new update is installed on the phone.
The update is only released for Moto X devices on T-Mobile's network and it is not clear how long before Motorola rolls out the update for its device on other networks such as AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. Till then, Moto X on other networks must settle for the older camera.
