Sarah Silverman Red Carpet: Actress' $60 Dress Now $102 After 2013 Emmys

Red carpets are traditionally associated with high fashion, expensive brands, fantastic hair and makeup and Hollywood's most beloved actors, actresses, writers and producers walking into the venue through a gauntlet of press and cameras along the way. However, traditions aren't rules, which is why comedian Sarah Silverman had no problem walking the red carpet at the Emmy Awards in a $60 black dress.

"I bought it online for $60 but doesn't it look like as good as anything fancy and expensive?" the actress asked Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet. She reportedly purchased the dress at the website Stop Staring.

The website describes the dress as: "One of the sexiest Stop Staring! Dresses yet! The Sexy Safari dress in black leather will make you feel like the ultimate predator in search of prey! Made of foiled, stretchy, leather-like fabric, your man won't be able to keep his hands off of you!"

According to the Inquisitr, since Silverman sported the dress on the Emmy's red carpet, it has gone up $102 in price. Either Silverman fibbed about the price of the dress or the website decided to capitalize on a little bit of free publicity. After all, Silverman has received widespread praise by fashion bloggers for her simple but elegant red carpet look.
