Texas Christian University (TCU) suspended two players from its team after they were arrested for felony complaint charges of robbery and bodily injury Monday, according to Tim Griffin of MySanAntonio.com.
Fort Worth, Texas, police confirmed the arrests, and team officials confirmed that wide receiver Andre Petties-Wilson and defensive end Mike Tuaua were suspended after the arrest, according to Griffin.
The two players have been accused of kicking and punching another TCU student, and for allegedly stealing a case of Keystone Light Beer from the victim in an incident that took place Sept. 4.
Tuaua, a senior defensive lineman for the Horned Frogs, will likely be missed for his pass rushing abilities. Petties-Wilson is a freshman without any stats for the Horned Frogs, so his loss likely won't be as impactful as Tuaua.
TCU is going to Lubbock, Texas, to play Texas Tech this Saturday. Both teams are undefeated so far this season, and head coach Gary Patterson is likely trying to get his team focused on the game. TCU went 12-1 last season, and their only loss was to Baylor by three points. That one loss kept them out of the BCS playoffs last years, so the Horned Frogs know how important every game is.
The Horned Frogs have suffered several injuries this season. Tuaua joins a list of seven starters who won't be in the lineup this weekend against the Red Raiders, but the other six players are out due to injury and not off-field incidents.
