Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins has been a strong fantasy player this season for owners who were forced to wait a little on a tight end selection. Seferian-Jenkins looked well on his way to stringing two solid weeks together, but couldn't finish out the Bucs' upset victory over the New Orleans Saints this past Sunday and may now be facing several weeks on the sidelines thanks to the injury. Per a report Tuesday from ESPN's Adam Schefter, Seferian-Jenkins suffered a shoulder strain that is likely to sideline him for the next four to six weeks.
A second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Seferian-Jenkins showed promise his rookie season but managed just 21 receptions for 221 yards and two touchdowns in nine games. He started off his sophomore NFL campaign and the Jameis Winston era with a bang though, notching five receptions for 110-yards and two touchdowns and showing Bucs fans and fantasy owners what may be a very strong and successful connection with Winston.
Unfortunately, with the injury, Seferian-Jenkins won't likely be making much of an impact for the Bucs or fantasy squads in the immediate future. Assuming the best case scenario, it sounds like Seferian-Jenkins could return for the Bucs' Week 8 game against the Atlanta Falcons on Nov. 8.
