Amazon has announced the newest Kindle Fire HD with a faster processor, a sleek design, light weight, new Fire OS 3.0 and many other features for a reasonably low price of $139.
Amazon, the largest online retailer, has announced the new Kindle Fire HD with a sleek and lighter design, high-definition display, faster processor, dual speakers from Dolby Digital Plus, and all new Fire OS 3.0. The most attractive part is the price tag, as the new Kindle Fire HD goes on sale for $139.
The new Kindle Fire HD features a 7-inch display with 1280 x 800 screen resolution and faster dual-core 1.5GHz processor, which promises 60 percent increased speed than its previous model. Although, the specification may not challenge the new Nexus 7, but the pricing can be a plus point for those who are looking to save $100. The new tablet from Amazon is thinner, lighter and sports a new design with curved edges and back-mounted controls like the newly launched Kindle Fire HDX.
"Two years ago, we revolutionized the tablet industry with the breakthrough $199 price point for tablets-now we're doing it again with the $139 price point," Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com Founder and CEO, said in a press release. "$139 now gets you a 1280x800 216 ppi HD display, a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, Fire OS 3.0, dual speakers with Dolby audio, vast selection and Amazon-exclusive features like Prime Instant Video downloads, Second Screen, Kindle FreeTime, X-Ray and more."
The new Kindle Fire HD comes preloaded with new Fire OS 3.0 "Mojito" with several new and upgraded features, and Amazon-exclusive services. It includes new features such as X-Ray for Music, Prime Instant Video downloads, Second Screen, expanded X-Ray for Movies and TV, and more, according to the company's press release.
The Kindle Fire HD is available for preorders via Amazon's official site. The 16GB version of the device will cost $169, while the 8GB comes with a $139 price tag. Amazon will start shipping the device October 2, 2013.
