NBA 2K16 Ratings: LeBron James Edges Out Stephen Curry To Remain Top Player (WATCH TRAILER)

NBA 2K16 comes out on Sept. 29, and it is one of the most highly anticipated game releases in quite a while, like it is every year. There have been numerous trailer releases and a lot of buildup to how good the game is going to be, but what people really want to know before the game comes out is the players' ratings. There were rumors that Stephen Curry might be overtaking LeBron James as the highest rated player, but after five days of that rumor swirling they decided to put an end to it by releasing the ratings for the top 10 players in the game.

James holds his ground as the top rated player in NBA 2K16 again with a 94 rating while Curry finishes right behind him with a 93 rating, according to NBA 2K16 Twitter account. Rounding out the top 10 overall players in the game are Anthony Davis (92), James Harden (92), Kevin Durant (91), Chris Paul (90), Russell Westbrook (89), Carmelo Anthony (88), Blake Griffin (88) and LaMarcus Aldridge (88.)

In this year's version of the game the creators used a different philosophy in making the ratings which is why you see much lower ratings overall. Last year James was again the highest rated player but he was all the way up at a 98. The game allows for the ratings to change as the NBA season goes on so these ratings are not set in stone. For example, in NBA 2K15 Curry started out as an 89 but by the end of his NBA campaign he was all the way up to a 95 rating, which was tied for the second best and above what James got this year.

This year's version of the NBA 2K video game is expected to be much more detailed with better graphics and also introduces more classic teams while bringing some college basketball teams into the mix. Watch a new trailer for the game which is so detailed it even has a funny surprise at the end.
