It's been about a month since Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston got married in one of the most private ceremonies in celebrity history, at their own home.
While promoting season two of his hit show "The Leftovers," Theroux couldn't help but gush to everyone about his new wife.
With season two deep in production at the time of their secret wedding, people started to wonder how he was able to take the time off. Luckily for them, there had been a "very logical writer's hiatus" taking place and it became "a perfect cover in a weird way," the 44-year-old actor told Access Hollywood. "It happened to coincide, not happened to, but coincided with my birthday. So, it became a beautiful thing."
He ended up being able to forget about work for a little while and really enjoy the wedding. "My mum pointed out to be that there are only two times in life when people say really nice things about you to you. And one of them you're dead for," Theroux told News.com AU. "So she said, 'Enjoy it.' And I did, enormously."
He and Aniston, 46, had been engaged for almost three years before they tied the knot during what most people thought was his birthday celebration. While it was a good time, Theroux is just happy he finally got to ditch the word fiancée and call Aniston his wife.
"It feels very touching. I can't remember the first time I said those words but it feels fantastic," he explained. "It [the wedding] went off perfectly, very smoothly. The best part of the wedding is, of course, being able to stand across from someone and say those words. That meant a lot. And to have many of your friends there in support of that, there is something very beautiful about that ritual."
Following the wedding, the happy couple and their closest friends, including Courtney Cox, Jason Bateman and Chelsea Handler, set off to Bora Bora to enjoy their star-studded honeymoon.
"It was a fantastic honeymoon," he told Extra. "We had thought about it; we could just do a normal honeymoon, or we could go with some friends, keep the party going, relax and have fun. It was really special, it was really beautiful."
Aniston was always one of those people in Hollywood who had been her heart broken one too many times, but then Theroux came along and changed everything. Now that she found her soulmate, people started to wonder if we'd have to start referring to her as Jennifer Theroux.
"I don't think it would be great if she did," he said of her changing her name. "I think 'Aniston' is going to stick with her if she likes it or not."
"I look forward to being good to her," he explained. "It's hard to explain but it's a nice feeling, a settled feeling. It just feels really good."
