Arsenal has a plan to bring Real Madrid attacker Karim Benzema in to help with their lack of attacking options, according to Bleacher Report. Manager Arsene Wenger knows his Gunners side is lacking depth at the forward spot and bringing in a high-profile player like Benzema would benefit the club.
Benzema actually spent most of the summer "flirting" with Wenger about a possible move, according to Sports Witness. The Frenchmen would fit perfectly with fellow countrymen Oliver Giroud, who also plays forward for Arsenal and France. The preexisting chemistry between the two players would benefit all parties involved.
Arsenal know their lack of spending in the summer transfer window was a massive mistake, and they are now paying for it dearly. Locking up the services of former Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech was huge.
However, if a team does not spend the money to bring in more attackers, how is that team supposed to score goals and win titles? The signing of Benzema would quiet the critics and finally offer the Gunners needed attacking support.
Real Madrid can be persuaded to make this deal happen, even with rumors of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving at the end of the season. With all the money potentially coming from those two deals, Madrid would not struggle one bit to secure multiple players needed to fill the holes created. Arsenal and Madrid will continue to stay in contact during the first half of the season and a deal in January could certainly take place if both clubs are willing.
